If you’re like me, you’ll know that the hardest part about losing weight is eating healthy. With a busy schedule, it’s hard for us to find the time to plan out our meals. If you’ve read any of the infinite articles on the internet about weight loss, they will say that meal prep in the best thing that you can do to help yourself. However, meal prepping is a seemingly daunting task. Cooking is hard enough when it’s for one meal. Cooking for a whole week in one day is tedious. However, there are simple things that you can do to make your meal prep easier. You won’t need to dread meal prep, anymore!

Buy Pre-Cut Fruits and Vegetables

Growing up, I always thought that pre-cut fruits weren’t as healthy as the fruit that wasn’t cut. However, that’s not the case. Pre-cut fruits and vegetables are still fruits and vegetables. The part of meal prep that usually takes the most time is cutting the food. When you’re cooking the meal, you can go watch TV or do laundry. However, cutting the fruits and vegetables that you need for the meal takes time and a lot of work. Therefore, buying fruits and vegetables that are already pre-cut is a time saver! Also, buying fruit that doesn’t need to be cut, like berries, is helpful.

Most ovens will have at least two shelves that you can use to cook. Therefore, don’t be afraid to use the space that your oven gives you. Or, the space that your baking sheets give you. Throwing all of your vegetables on a couple of baking sheets and popping them in the oven to cook with your chicken or potatoes is a great use of space and time.

There are some foods, like tuna, that don’t need to be cooked. If you know that you’re going to have a busy day and don’t have time to meal prep, then try this. Also, snacks that you don’t need to bake are a great idea when you’re busy!

This one might seem like a no-brainer. However, planning out your meal prep will save you a lot of time. When you know what you’re going to cook and when, you will find that it’s easier to cook the foods. Also, knowing which foods you should cook first will make the best use of your precious time!

If you’re just starting out, then meal prep will seem difficult. Don’t be discouraged by the idea of planning a whole week’s worth of meals in one day. Start off by planning and cooking your lunches.
