Ideal Breakfast Foods: Healthy Foods to Eat in the Mornings

The most important meal of the day, serving it up your way! Yes, I did steal that from a popular children’s show. Also, I did change a word in it to better fit my needs. That doesn’t take away the importance of eating breakfast. If you’re like me, then you have a hard time getting up in time to eat breakfast. I usually grab a protein shake and hit the road. Breakfast is an important meal. However, some may say that you don’t necessarily have to eat breakfast. If you choose to eat breakfast, then there are certain foods that are better to eat than others. I’ll discuss the most ideal breakfast foods and why they’re so healthy for you. Luckily, there are super easy ways to eat a healthy breakfast!

The Ideal Breakfast Foods

There are several foods that are healthy for you and promote brain function. These foods are simple to make and eating them is great way to start your day!

Eggs

The most cliché breakfast food is eggs. Eggs are great because you can make them in many different ways. You can have eggs over easy, scrambled, sunny side up, etc. The reason eggs are such a great breakfast food is because they are high in protein. This helps you to feel fuller faster. Thus, you won’t need to eat as many calories to feel full. Also, egg yolks have antioxidants that help keep your eyes healthy.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is an acquired taste for most. However, it’s a great source of fiber and antioxidants. The antioxidants in oatmeal help to protect your heart and decrease your blood pressure. Who wouldn’t want a healthy heart and healthy blood? On the down side, a cup of oatmeal only has 6 grams of protein. Therefore, it isn’t considered a high protein breakfast. Therefore, you might need to add fruits or nuts to the oatmeal to get the protein your body needs.

Fruits

Speaking of fruits, they are a great breakfast food. Fruits are healthy for your body and a great source of vitamins. The most ideal breakfast fruit is berries. Berries are rich in antioxidants and vitamins. Plus, it’s easy to grab an apple before you go or add some berries to your breakfast!

Greek Yogurt

Truthfully, any type of yogurt is a great option for breakfast. However, Greek yogurt is higher in protein than other yogurts. Also, Greek yogurt increases your metabolism which helps you to lose weight. Lastly, Greek yogurt is a great source of probiotics which help your stomach to stay healthy.

Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is a health-nuts dream! It has incredibly high levels of protein. Protein is the best way to feel and stay fuller longer. In fact, cottage cheese has been shown to have the same amount of protein as eggs do. A single cup of cottage cheese has 25 grams of protein. That much protein will increase your metabolism and help you lose weight. You won’t want to eat anything until lunch if you eat cottage cheese for breakfast. Also, cottage cheese is great with fruits mixed into it. You can eat it for breakfast or lunch. I once knew someone who ate cottage cheese and fruit for lunch every day because her doctor told her to! I’m telling you, cottage cheese is a great source of protein.

Protein Shakes and Juices

There’s that word again, protein. Protein is the ideal way to stay full without eating 1,000 calories. Protein shakes are designed to have a lot of protein in them. Therefore, they are a great breakfast option. Especially, if you’re not a morning person or are constantly on the go. Also, drinking orange juice or apple juice is a quick way to get the vitamins you need for the day. There’s no shame in drinking your breakfast instead of eating it.

Nuts and Seeds

Nut and seeds are high in protein and fiber. Also, they’re easy to pack along if you’re in a rush. You can add nuts and seeds to cottage cheese, yogurt, etc. Also, nut and seed butters are delicious on toast!

Conclusion

In conclusion, there are plenty ideal breakfast foods for you to eat. They’re easy to put together if you struggle to sit down and eat breakfast in the mornings. Also, they are found at every grocery store in the country. There are also many easy recipes that combine these different foods together to make a delicious breakfast. All of these foods are healthy for your brain and body. It seems easy enough to ensure you eat a healthy and nutritious breakfast!
