Whether you’re just hitting your adolescent years or you’re well in to your forties, you’ve experienced acne. When I was in high school, I had the hardest time getting rid of my pimples. I tried every type of face wash and nothing seemed to work. Medications and topical creams didn’t make a dent. It was only getting worse. It’s hard when you’re embarrassed of your face because of the zits. Some people are confident enough to push through, but teenage me wasn’t. So, how are you supposed to get rid of stubborn acne? It is common knowledge that clogged pores often cause acne. Especially, blackheads. However, you might not be aware when your pores are clogging. Whenever you sweat the water gets stuck in every nook and crevasse of your body. That includes your pores. Therefore, it’s important that you clean your face after you’ve sweated. That could mean washing your face with face wash, using a cleaning wipe, or just using water. Even if you didn’t work out, if you’ve sweated more than usual, then it couldn’t hurt to clear your face. Also, dead skin cells and dirt can get stuck in your pores. Sometimes, your sweat can help the debris to soak into your pores.
The main cause of acne is hormones. That’s why teenagers that are going through puberty are often prone to breakouts. Their hormones are going crazy and fluctuating. If you are a woman who uses birth control, then you’ve probably noticed that you broke out when you started or switched. Birth control effects your hormones. On the other hand, pregnancy causes most people to break out because of how it effects hormones. There’s not much that you can do about this. Therefore, stick to your skin care routine and, if you feel so inclined, use cover up for those noticeable pimples. Acne is more common than you might realize. No one would judge you either way.
This is a lesser known cause of acne. If you’re prone to dry skin, then you might find that your face has red spots. That’s not just acne, but also skin irritation. If you think that this could be a cause of your acne, then try to use a moisturizer. I’m not talking about a lotion. Lotions that are meant for your body aren’t always safe for your face. Therefore, you should look for face moisturizers. Most are reasonably priced.
