Need a place to refill your reusable water bottle? There’s a ‘Tap app’ for that

If you carry a reusable water bottle around with you and have ever been unsure of where you can refill it, you’ll be thrilled to know that there’s an app for that called “Tap”.

Several years ago, I had no idea that I could purchase a reusable stainless steel water bottle. I used to use plastic cups that ended up becoming nasty and had to be thrown away. Either that or I bought a plastic bottle of water. But now I own my stainless steel water bottle that holds up to 34 fluid ounces of water and keeps it cold for 24 hours. It’s the best investment I’ve ever made and cuts my carbon footprint.

I bring my bottle everywhere I go from long car trips to plane trips and I keep it next to me inside and outside my home. Usually, I only need to fill it up once and that’s enough for an afternoon out. But I do wish that I knew of places I could fill it up if necessary.

That’s why I’m now glad that I’ve found the Tap app, which is a handy tool containing a map of all the locations that will gladly refill a reusable bottle at the touch of a finger on your smartphone.

According to Tap app website:

Tap’s Refill Station network is partly made up of partnerships with coffee shops and fast-casual restaurants, while also showing you best public places to refill your water bottle around the world. Whether a drinking fountain or a filtered water ATM, you’ll be sure to find it on Tap.

The site notes that plastic water bottles are a problem in our world.

“Over 1 million plastic bottles are purchased every minute and nearly 80% of these end up in our landfills and oceans. At this rate, the amount of single-use plastic ending up in our oceans will outweigh fish by 2050, unless we make a change.”

And we know how bad single-use plastics have become for the environment and on our own health. Plastic waste kills whales and other marine wildlife and microplastics are now found in our own bodies, which is having an adverse effect on our health.

And the only way we can stop it is by refusing to buy bottled water and other single-use plastics while choosing to purchase reusable bottles and containers instead.

I’ve had my reusable water bottle for years and it’s super easy to keep clean. I save loads of money by not having to buy bottled water, nor do I have to spend any money to replace an old bottle or cup. The Tap app sells reusable water bottles on their website. Or, you could also visit Wavesgear (which is what I did) and purchase one of theirs, which you can do by clicking here.

You’ll save money, help the environment and keep your thirst quenched at the same time.
